As 2016 comes to an end and 2017 rolls around, many people start to think about new year resolutions and set them but discover at the middle of the year that they have not fulfilled the new year resolutions they set at the beginning of the year.
A simple way of making new year resolutions that last and you can keep is to resolve to live a happier life. It is one resolution that can help you achieve all your other new year goals and resolutions if you put it to practice.
Spend some time to think about what hinders your happiness and what makes you happy. Make three lists. What stops you from being happy, what makes you happy, and what are your goals for the new year?
Whatever you want to achieve, you can get it but you don’t have to compromise your happiness. Pain is not the same as thing as sadness or unhappiness. You can be happy in suffering and can be sad and unhappy in the midst of celebration. If you suffer pain on the road to reaching your goals, it’s ok as long you keep your goal in focus and you remain happy. There will be trials, obstacles, and everything to bring you down but you have to keep struggling to reach the end.
Wake up every day with a purpose and a plan. Have some positive affirmations that you tell yourself to keep you going. It can be as simple or as elaborate as you like but it will help you to keep moving on. Say to yourself: “I will be happy today and everything will be ok” and believe in it.
It is important to remain happy, because, without happiness in your life you might be pulling yourself down and blaming it on other things because you don’t realize that your unhappiness blurs your vision.
without happiness in your life you might be pulling yourself down and blaming it on other things because you don’t realize that your unhappiness blurs your vision.
Resolve today to live a happier life and do only things that would make you happy either now or in the future and see yourself achieve greater things.
Merry Christmas and a Joyous new year to all!!!
